For advancement teams, getting an alum’s attention on Facebook can be tough. Even while creating remarkable content, there are moments when your institution’s social content strategy can benefit from an advertising boost. That’s why this past Wednesday we hosted “Making Your Community’s News Feed: Facebook Ads for Advancement,” a webinar that focused on how institutions can use the ad network of the world’s largest professional network to better reach their constituents.
In less than 50 minutes, we covered a lot of ground.
In the webinar we examined primary Facebook Ad types and best practice techniques in composing a Facebook Ad campaign. From alumni page promotion to annual fund awareness, we examined how schools, such as Bowdoin, Brown and Amherst, have been able to successfully use Facebook Ads for their advancement efforts.
For institutions considering Facebook Ads, we recommend focusing on the lifetime value that a page like can provide, the unique targeting and social aspects that can be used to create a compelling campaign and, lastly, to test ads by using A/B tests.
