That’s why EverTrue has chosen the most magical time of the year to host Raise 2017; a conference to inspire your advancement strategy happening on July 27 and 28. Why should you come visit Boston this summer? Here are five reasons to make the trip:
1. The Scenery
Where else can you find green, lush parks and waterfront views juxtaposed against city skyline? Boston has many ways to enjoy the great outdoors and picturesque scenery.
- See the city the “sea-nic” way on the Harborwalk, a continuous shoreline walkway that connects the well-known neighborhoods of Charlestown, The North End, Downtown Boston and Fort Point.
- Walk, jog, bike, blade (whatever floats your boat) along the banks of the Charles River on the Esplanade, a beautiful city park. Catch a free summer concert at the park’s famous Hatch Shell.
- Take a historic swan boat ride in the Boston Public Garden.
2. The History
Depending on who you ask (just not someone from Philly), Boston boasts some serious history as the birthplace of the American Revolution. Get a history lesson with these ultra-American activities:
- Walk or schedule a guided tour of the Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile-long path that takes you through the city and to 16 historical landmarks of the American Revolution.
- Get transported back in time to 1773 through an interactive experience at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. Not only will you explore the ships, but you’ll also dump tea overboard just as the Sons of Liberty did back in 1773.
- No matter who you root for, a trip to the iconic Fenway Park is a must do. The Sox won’t be in town during the conference, but it gives you the perfect opportunity to experience a guided tour of the oldest ballpark in MLB.
3. The Food
“My favorite thing about summer in Boston is the abundance of lobster rolls that you can find in every restaurant and street vendor. I do think that the best lobster roll in Boston can be found at Neptune Oyster in my neighborhood, the North End. Just be prepared to wait at this 27-seat seafood spot.”

Courtney is right on the money; there’s nothing better than a perfect lobster roll during the summer months. Here are the EverTrue team’s favorite spots get your seafood on during your stay:
- Neptune Oyster: The hot buttered lobster roll is a bucket list meal; just be prepared to wait or go during a non-peak time.
- Row 34: Located across from our office, it’s the best for celebratory team lunches and dinners.
- Legal Harborside: Seafood with one of the best views of Boston Harbor—try to snag a seat on the roof deck!
- B&G Oysters: Excellent seafood that can be enjoyed on a scenic South End patio.
Can’t stomach seafood? Check out the Lookout Rooftop Bar at the Envoy Hotel for cocktails and one of the most spectacular views of Boston.
4. The Culture
Boston is an innovation hub—that’s why it’s no surprise the city showcases some of the best cultural experiences to expand your horizons.
- Visit some of the best art museums in the world, including the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the ICA.
- Take the Innovations Tour of Cambridge to see Boston’s innovative and creative spirit in action. Similarly, visit the iconic Harvard Yard for inside look at the country’s most storied university.
- Tour the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. While seeing a library may sound like a chore, this library is adorned with stunning architecture and vast murals from prominent artists. Hop over to Newbury Street afterward for the city’s best shopping.
5. Raise 2017
While Boston boasts some of the best historical, cultural, scenic and culinary experiences, the real reason to join us this summer is for Raise 2017. On July 27 and 28, Raise will convene the best and brightest minds under one roof to inspire innovation that drives advancement forward.
