Mentorship Matters. Get involved.

EverTrue recently launched a new podcast, Mentorship Matters, which will examine the current and future landscape of fundraising leaders and how intentional mentorship can build a more diverse and inclusive talent pool to serve the advancement and non-profit industries.

EverTrue wouldn’t exist if two Brown alums hadn’t gone out of their way to help a small-town first-gen college student (our CEO and Founder, Brent Grinna) dream bigger.

Mentorship matters. It has always been a huge part of the EverTrue ethos to highlight stories of the mentors who have changed the course of our lives and careers.

Every day we speak with top advancement leaders across the country, and they rarely fail to mention the mentors who have guided them. We even mapped the cross-over impact of mentorship in advancement and built a mentorship tree. (Check it out.)

At EverTrue, we know that our cross-industry connections are our biggest strength. We love to put advancement game-changers in touch with each other to network, get inspired, and exchange ideas about the topics that matter most to the future of philanthropy.

Like, how to change the way we talk about the fundraising profession.

Or how to build out a team ahead of a big capital campaign.

Or how to reveal unconscious bias in our prospecting.

Or the role advancement leaders play in equitable recruitment.

This fall, we’re leveling up our commitment to connecting the EverTrue community of customers, subscribers, and followers to talk about big issues that will dictate the health and longevity of advancement work. This month, we’re launching a new EverTrue original podcast that will live on our free media hub, EverTrue Studios.

The Mentorship Matters podcast will examine the current and future landscape of fundraising leaders and how intentional mentorship can build a more diverse and inclusive talent pool to serve the advancement and non-profit industries.

Who is running advancement’s top-performing shops?

How are they demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion on their teams?

How are they fostering team cultures built on empathy and transparency while also holding everyone to the highest productivity standards?

Addressing these questions on Mentorship Matters is our host, Kim Nyoni. Kim is a long-time advancement leader and founding member of the Black Leaders in Philanthropy Initiative. Kim will interview leaders from the advancement and nonprofit sectors, DEI leaders from the for-profit industry, and new and aspiring talent to explore how fundraising can be a destination profession that represents the mosaic of students and communities our organizations serve.

At EverTrue, we believe intentional and inclusive mentorship is a powerful way to bring top talent to the field of philanthropy. It is what will nurture folks to commit to this important work and thrive in their roles. And it is what will build the next generation of fundraising leaders who will uphold the mission, vision, and values of our nation’s most influential institutions.
